OPEN REGISTRATION LOTTERY POLICIES:
On the day of the Open Registration Lottery:
•At 10:00 A.M., parents will draw one number per family. •Registration begins immediately after the numbers are drawn. Numbers will be called sequentially, beginning with "1".
•When a number is called, the holder of that number will register all members of their family.
•Parents who arrive after registration has begun will not draw a number but will sign-in and register in order of arrival after the last of the number holders.
•A non-refundable fee of $100 per child per class is due at registration.
Only cash, money orders or checks payable to Little Fishes Preschool are accepted. No fee is required to place a child on a wait list. No fee is required to register for VPK.
•In most cases, the child’s enrollment and class placement will be confirmed. Occasionally when class availability is uncertain, a registration fee may be accepted and held until confirmation of enrollment and class placement can be confirmed. If enrollment cannot be confirmed, the check will be returned.
•If the first choice is unavailable, parents may register a child for an alternate choice and place the child on the Waiting List for the first choice. However, there is no guarantee that the Waiting List will clear and the child will get into the first choice.
•If a parent changes his/her mind after leaving registration, he/she must wait until all others have registered to make that change.
Voluntary PreKindergarten (VPK):
•No fee is required to register for VPK. •When registering, parents must supply proof of the child's age and proof of residency. Parents who do not have the required documentation cannot register their child for a class, but may only place the child's name on the Waiting List.
•For more information about eligibility requirements and the acceptable documentation for VPK, click on Download Forms and choose VPK Application (Form AWI-VPK 01P).
WAITING LIST POLICY
The priority of the Waiting List is as follows:
1. Children of Staff Members
2. Active PCOL Members who are Current LFPS Families
3. Current LFPS Families
4. Active PCOL Members with new students
5. Returning Families
6. New Families (not PCOL members)
When notified that an opening has become available, the parent has 24 hours to inform the Director if he/she plans to enroll the child in the available spot before the next name on the list is called.
A child may be skipped once to equalize the gender ratio of a class.
Waiting Lists do not carry over from year to year.
