Our Purpose Our Calling
We are commited to a biblical, loving relationship with Jesus Christ,
our Lord and God, and with all other persons who touch our lives
as to fullfill His Great Commandments.
We have received the most precious gift that anyone can receive–the Bread of Life, the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore we will serve Him through our worship, praise, work, and spiritual growth. We are also called by our Lord Jesus Christ to share His "Bread of Life" with those in the community, city, state, country, and world. We will continue this wonderful calling by growing in our relationship with Him, living our lives in a Biblical way, and offering ministries and programs to reach as many people as possible with this wonderful message of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Meet Our Pastor
Reverend Ferdi Brits with Louise, Ferdinand, and Anri
Rev. Ferdinand Brits came to the Presbyterian Church of the Lakes from South Africa in 2001. For eighteen years, he was the senior of five pastors serving a Dutch Reformed Church of 2,600 members. Louise, his wife, is a financial planner, and they have two children, Ferdinand and Anri.
Ferdi was raised by Christian parents, and, at the age of 15, all that he had heard and learned about the Lord became real to him. He enrolled in the theological studies program at the University of Pretoria. He obtained a BA degree with Greek, psychology, and criminology as majors and a B. Divinitatis Degree (the equivalent of a Masters Degree.) After completing his studies, he was drafted into the Defense Force, where he served as a Chaplain for two years.
Ferdi has vast experience in all aspects of ministry. He promotes a healthy church through involvement with the families of the congregation and the surrounding community. He works hard to preach a clear and practical message of Christian living. He encourages others to grow in their faith through the study of God's Word and the practical experience of Christian service. Ferdi loves working with people and serving them in Jesus Christ our Lord, to His Glory.
