Health Ministry

We developed a Health Ministry at PCOL. All of us want to be well. But how? Health includes the areas of mental health, physical wellbeing, spiritual health and emotional health. We can begin our journey by putting Christ at the center of our lives, and letting his ways work healing in us, and through us to others. Do you like to cook? Are you good at communication, publicity, organization, or research? Do you like to be involved in coordinating events? You do not have to be a current or former athlete or "health nut" to join our committee. All are welcome, including youth and grandparents! If you have any questions contact Lindsay Parrett at (407) 291-2886.

Summer Time is Over Now What?

Summer travels are over, the kids are headed back to school, and for many of us this is the true start to the new year. A time for new or renewed habits...like Church every Sunday, singing with the choir, or joining First Place 4 Health! Are you carrying some extra weight around? That extra body fat can sap our energy and derail goals we have in every area of our lives. Is it mental or emotional "baggage" that is dragging you down? Maybe you are at your ideal weight, but you just don't feel healthy. Come join us as we look to God's word to develop healthy new habits for the mind, body and soul. Class starts Monday, September 13 at 6:30 PM in the bell tower. Cost: $22.00 (includes the bible study as well as the workbook Simple Ideas for Healthy Living). Value: Priceless!

Bible Study Description: Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit, Bible Study with Scripture Memory CD

Most people would like to be known as kind, gentle, loyal and loving, but many don't know that developing these traits is also the key to living a balanced life mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually! The Bible says that love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are the fruit of the Spirit that grow in believers lives as they submit to Christ (see Galatians 5:19-23).   In this Bible study, First Place 4 Health members will discover how growing the fruit of the Spirit will transform them into the whole and balanced creations God intends them to be. Features include: twelve weeks of Bible study with leader's guide, Live It Trackers, Scripture memory cards and music CD, exercise tracker, menu suggestions and food plans.

Come join us, and bring a friend! E-mail Lindsay Parrett at PCOLHealth@gmail.com, or sign up at the PCOL Health & Wellness Bulletin Board in the narthex.
